From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
"A parish is a church territorial unit constituting a division of a diocese. A parish is under the pastoral care and clerical jurisdiction of a parish priest, who might be assisted by one or more curates, and who operates from a parish church. Historically, a parish often covered the same geographical area as a manor (whilst still being defined by the parish church)."
"By extension the term parish refers not only to the territorial unit but to the people of its community or congregation as well as to church property within it. In England this church property was technically in the ownership of the parish priest, vested in him on his institution to that parish."
This not exactly the same as in Canada. For one, our parishes are unconnected with manors (Are there any in Canada?). For another, church property is in the ownership of the diocese.
All the individual parishes in the diocese are listed to the right. Click on any one in the list to go to a page dedicated to that parish. The information is rather sparse currently but over time, as parishes take advantage of the space granted, they should be quite informative. In that regard we need photos,, photos and more photos.

Some churches have their own Websites. That is not the norm, however, due to either inexperience, expense or both. There is an option for any parish, or church, in the Diocese to have their very own Website at low cost and maintenance. The Website address would be unique, hosting would be on the same server as the Diocesan Website and the same support staff would be available to you
